We can help with issues such as headaches, neck pain, back pain, disc problems, post-spinal surgery recovery and nerve pain.

What we aim to do is work out why things went wrong in the first place. If we can work this out by doing a head-to-toe full body assessment then we can be more effective and efficient with our treatment outcomes so you feel better sooner and the results last!

Real Time Ultrasound

In the clinic we have a real time ultrasound machine. We most commonly use this to look at your "core" muscles. One thing we look for is to see that you can lift your bladder up by contracting your pelvic floor. We also want to see that you can relax that muscle well.

The abdominal muscles most people think of as their "core" muscles can be tricky to turn on properly. Using the ultrasound we can find out what cue you need to get the right muscles to turn on without cheating. We can measure how those muscles are working which is a great way to see that you're improving.

Getting the right muscles to turn on at the right time is SO important.

Anyone can have a rectus diastasis, or an abdominal separation. It is most commonly following pregnancy but it can be seen in gym junkies and those of us with... softer midsections. Using an ultrasound to address the way you use your tummy muscles will help you address this issue. Without it we often see discs break down in your back, pelvic pain, and/or hernias.

Frequently we will see that someone struggles to relax. They may have symptoms of genital area pain or issues with sexual function, or they may have seemingly unrelated symptoms like stubborn hip pain ( which is very related). This is one of the reasons we do ultrasound assessments as part of our class assessment. In the event of tightness we need to adjust the kinds of exercises someone does and teach them how to relax those muscles.

If you think your core muscles might not be working as well as they could be, book yourself an assessment today.
Did you know your pelvic floor can be the cause of persistent lower back and hip pain? Many people think the pelvic floor is only relate to bladder problems.

In order to get the pelvic floor functioning well it is vital to assess the way the pelvis in interacting with the rest of the body.
The same is true for helping with pre- and post-natal issues such as abdominal separation. In order to get your abs working well again we need to make sure the alignment in the rest of your body is great. This is something we can check in any appointment but our "Postnatal Check" is specifically designed to look at your full body alignment, your abdominal muscle function, abdominal separation, and do a full pelvic floor assessment to check for any issues that can be helped.

Not everyone wants an internal pelvic floor assessment which is completely fine. We can assess the pelvic floor to some degree externally, including via abdominal ultrasound. It's entirely up to you.

Some of the issues we can help with include:
-
Continence issues
-
Peri and post menopausal issues
-
Pelvic organ prolapse
-
Painful penetration
-
Tight pelvic floor muscles
-
Pelvic pain
